Artist Statement

Dominique Bello graduated from the French Ecole des Beaux Arts where she specialized in ceramics. She developed her artistic techniques during the 10 years she spent in Beirut, Lebanon and 3 years in Cairo, Egypt. In the course of her extensive travels throughout the Middle East she became fascinated by Islamic art. Her collaboration with architects and decorators gave her the opportunity to work in a variety of media, ceramics, marble mosaics, stained glass and hand painted fabrics.

After she moved to Washington, DC she started creating hand painted silks on the theme of The Textile Museum exhibitions for the boutique where she exhibits a variety of her scarves, ties, and jackets.
